GlenDronach 21 Year Parliament Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

GlenDronach 21 Year Old Parliament is named for the parliament of rooks that has nested in the trees beside the distillery for nearly two centuries. Founded in 1826 at Forgue in Aberdeenshire and owned by Brown-Forman under master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie, GlenDronach is Scotland's great sherry-cask specialist, and Parliament is matured for at least 21 years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks.

Bottled at 96 proof and non-chill-filtered, it pours deep mahogany and offers rum-soaked stone fruit, cashew, Brazil nut, flan, honey-glazed ham and clove on the nose, then a dense palate of Mexican chocolate, Oloroso, ginger snap, blackstrap rum, vanilla bean and dry oak tannin, finishing long with peppery oak and drying sherry. The Whiskey Wash scored it 89 out of 100. A serious old sherry bomb and a landmark gift for a Scotch lover.
